Brighton Park is a community area located on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois. It is number 58 of the 77 community areas of Chicago with a population of 44,156. Brighton Park is in Cook County and a largely residential neighborhood on Chicago's Far South Side. Borrowing its name from Brighton, Massachusetts, the area is known for being a hub of trucking and transportation. Brighton Park is a relatively peaceful area that has seen much growth and expansion over the last fifty years, with access to the Stevenson Expressway, the opening of the CTA Orange Line, and the revamping of Chicago Midway Airport. Bungalows, ranch-style homes, and brick multi-units line the streets, and many homes have a front or backyards and a car park or garage.
