Old Town Homes for Sale
Real Estate in Old Town, Chicago Illinois
Old Town is a neighborhood and historic district in Near North Side and Lincoln Park, Chicago, Illinois, home to many of Chicago's older, Victorian-era buildings, including St. Michael's Church, one of seven buildings to survive the Great Chicago Fire. First settled by German immigrants in 1850, Old Town is popular with architecture buffs who come to admire its Victorian-era buildings, quaint streets and shops. Tree-lined Wells Street features the revered Second City comedy club, old-school pubs, charming eateries and artisanal coffee shops, as well as quirky boutiques. St. Michael’s Church is one of the few structures in Chicago to survive the Great Fire of 1871. Old Town is the best of both worlds. It's walkable to the heart of the city, Michigan Avenue, and Lake Michigan, but also has a warm neighborhood feel with a lot of great restaurants, shops, green space, and areas to walk a dog. Stop and smell the flowers at A New Leaf, a gorgeous garden shop and studio. Indulge in the “Old Town Classic,” filled with The Fudge Pot’s chocolate goodies (they’ve been making everything right there on the premises since 1963). Stop by The House of Glunz for a glass of wine; it’s Chicago’s oldest wine merchant, setting up shop more than 120 years ago.
