Grand Boulevard, located on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, is one of the well-defined Chicago Community Areas with a population of 22,209. The boulevard from which the community area takes its name now bears the name of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It is home to a large part of the Bronzeville neighborhood, also known as the “Black Metropolis”. Living in Grand Boulevard offers residents an urban feel. Excellent transportation providing easy access to and from Chicago's Loop sparked the commercial and residential development of Grand Boulevard. Cable cars running along Cottage Grove Avenue reached 39th street by 1882 and 63rd street in 1887. East-west lines were also added. In Grand Boulevard there are a lot of coffee shops and parks.
